Bartek Otocki

Born in 1978 in Łódź. A painter, a photographer and occasionally a curator. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Art and Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź in 2003 (M.A. in painting under the tutelage of professor Ryszard Hunger), he received Ph. D. in painting in 2011 at the Faculty of Painting if the Artistic University in Poznań. He received a post-doctoral degree in 2014 at the Painting Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Between 2003 and 2012 he was employed as assistant lecturer (and since 2011 – as an associate professor) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź at the Textiles and Clothing Design Faculty. At present he is the associate professor at the Painting and New Media Faculty at the Art Academy in Szczecin, where he runs the Painting Workshop. Since September 2016 he has been a vice-rector for learning, teaching and staff development at the same institution.

His works have been exhibited in many galleries and exhibitions, among many is the Contemporary Museum in Wroclaw, National Museum in Szczecin, The Museum of History of the City of Lodz, BWA City Gallery in Bydgoszcz, Museum of Contemporary Sculpture in Oronsko and BWA Gallery in Bielsko Biala.
